Post Tension Foundations

Concrete is strong in compression but relatively weak in tension. Post-Tensioning pre-compresses the concrete with a force that has to be overcome prior to relying on its own flexural strength and therefore optimizes the use of steel. This helps to control shrinkage cracks in the early stage of the life of the slab and allow you to use less concrete.
Advantages
  • Controls and potentially eliminates cracks
  • Requires less concrete in slabs
  • Speed and ease of installation. Post tension goes in faster than conventional steel.
  • Fewer joints in slabs
